BRUNCH

Food

Spectators, we respectfully ask that you leave the food in the refreshments tent for the athletes. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles fundraisers that raised over $500 are welcome to join us in the Donor Brunch located just north of the main event site under the large white tent. Please have your blue wristband that may be collected from the CHLA tent on race weekend; replacement wristbands will not be given if lost. Food trucks will be available to all, serving up coffee, tacos, burritos, and other treats near athlete registration.

CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES

Chla

The 2XU Malibu Triathlon is proud to have partnered with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) since 2007. All fundraising initiatives support CHLA’s pediatric cancer research and we have raised over $16 million to date!

The majority of our fundraising comes from corporations competing both on and off the course for the fastest race times and the most money raised in the Corporate Challenge and the Entertainment Industry Challenge. On behalf of CHLA and the children it treats, thank you, fundraisers, for your dedication! We encourage every athlete and spectator to visit any of the sponsor booths to sign their well-wishes to the kids at CHLA on the posters outside the booth.

Road Closures Public Notice

Please plan ahead for alternate routes to avoid street closures and delays.

The Malibu Triathlon primarily takes place during the morning hours of Saturday, September 17 and September 18, 2022.

The bicycle portion of the triathlon uses the outer lanes of the Pacific Coast Highway during the hours of 7:00 am – 11:00 am. While thru traffic along Pacific Coast Highway is not obstructed, traffic will be moving at slower speeds. Please note that streets that do connect directly to PCH will have delays. We recommend that residents and businesses plan their day accordingly and ideally depart prior to 7:00 am or after 11:00 am.

Select intersections will be staffed by the LA County Sheriff’s Department to assist drivers during the event mornings. Please wait at the intersection until the Sheriff’s Department instructs you for safe passage.

Please be advised that cyclists approach at high rates of speed. Do not underestimate how quickly they are going.

If driving along PCH during the race, please stay in the dedicated vehicle lane.

Driveways that directly enter upon PCH will be closed during the event mornings.

Access to and from Zuma Canyon neighborhood will be via Bonsail Dr. to  PCH. Please follow the DETOUR signs.

LA County Sheriff’s Department will open roads as quickly and as safely as possible when the last rider passes.

Closing and opening times are approximate. If you have specific questions please do not hesitate to contact us at info@malibutri.com.
